Robin Schmitt in her new Colin English Saddle

Robin Schmitt in her new Colin English Saddle

This is a saddle that Colin Dangaard has been working on designing for decades. The small bearing surface of English saddles has always been a problem, and he has hit on a way to solve it.

He has been test-driving and tinkering with it, and Robin Schmitt is one of the first to have a chance to own one.

Robin says:

“I want to thank you for building the Colin English saddle for me. It fits me and my pony perfectly and is the best cross-country saddle I've ever owned! The deep seat and knee blocks keep me secure and balanced over logs and at a full gallop up and down hills. My husband even commented on how much my pony’s gait has smoothed out and how comfortable I look in the saddle.

I've had custom saddles made before but this one truly fits the best and has everything I was looking for in a trail saddle.

The ride was excellent. Her gait seemed smoother and more balanced at a gallop. We did some jumps, and I felt very secure. This will be my favorite saddle for sure!”

Colin says “I see the saddle looks like it fits the horse great, and it fits you, too. I did some serious cross-country jumping in it and I loved the balance AND the deep seat for long rides, something you can’t get in English saddles.”
