Hit-Air is the international leader in shock buffering systems, vests manufactured for both equestrians and motorcycle riders. The simple system is a vest that carries CO2 canisters that inflate if the ripcord attached to the saddle is pulled. Before you hit the ground you are surrounded by inflated cushioning, greatly reducing the force of impact..

Mugen Denko, LTD manufacturer of the Hit-Air brand, is the world’s oldest manufacturer of airbag safety apparel. Mugen Denko began research and development work on an airbag system in 1995. The airbag jacket was invented and patented by Mr. Kenji Takeuchi. Three years later in 1998, Mugen Denko presented the world’s first airbag jacket for motorcyclists.

This vest was purchased by Colin Dangaard’s webmaster in 2019 after an unplanned dismount led to spinal fusion and a month in the hospital. Fearing the possibility of another fall, she purchased this XL model with an extra extension buckle, allowing for it to be worn over bulky clothing, and the extra plates that fit into the back harness for extra padding.

At the time of purchase 7/27/19 the vest and plates purchase price was $625. Also purchased were 2 extra Hit Air replacement cartridges at $30 each, and the extender buckle for $60.

IT WAS NEVER USED.

Before Pat Fish was able to ride her mule Tobe again Colin Dangaard stepped up and told her “I’m going to make you an Australian saddle that you will be so comfortable in you will not be afraid to ride.” She requested double poleys, and they worked together to design the saddle she has been confidently and happily riding in ever since. Meanwhile this vest sat in her garage untouched.

The total purchase price for this vest system was $745, and knowing that she will never use it it is priced here at half price of $350.

If it helps someone else regain their confidence after a fall, wonderful. More information about Hit-Air vests can be found here on the website it was purchased from: Riding-Safe.com and descriptions of current models with prices are HERE.
