English saddles are notorious for having a limited weight-bearing surface area on the back of a horse. For most English saddles it is only about 200 square inches, compared to fleece-lined Aussie saddles that have about 400 square inches.
The more area that bears down on the back of a horse, the less pressure the horse feels — providing the saddle fits!
We custom make English pads to fit the specific length of saddles.
