The incredibly popular EQUALIZER PAD now available with pockets into which you can slide shims, so one pad can be used on a variety of horses.
If the saddle is too wide for the horse, meaning the front is falling down, two shims are placed in the front pockets, to lift the front of the saddle.
Or if the horse is old and has a sway back, the shims are placed in the center pockets. If the saddle is too narrow for the horse, and the front is way high, then the back needs to be lifted to make the saddle level, in which case the shims are placed in the back.
The shims are made from high density pure wood felt, and the standard thickness is 1/2 inch..
